Time for Texas

Wrenna By Kristeen Griffin-Grimes

I have been good this morning & have loaded up Texas!  I am so excited about this yarn, I have been trawling my books & online sites for my next pattern & I have found it - Wrenna by Kristeen Griffin-Girmes.  Published in her French Girl Knits book, Wrenna would look amazing in Amarillo (stone colour).

The 5 colours of Texas - all named after Texan cities

I have also uploaded the beautiful Brittany Needles & Hooks to the site as well - so if you need some larger needles or hooks to get started with your Texas exploration, I have the tools for you.  I also have some even BIGGER sizes on order, so watch this space!

Texas Tank

I need to get the pattern out of my head & onto paper!
I worked on this over the weekend at Unwind & finished it off over the weekend.  The yarn is wonderful to work with & will be uploaded very soon!  but in the meantime - start searching out all those super bulky patterns on Ravelry!

Bigger than Texas

Will this new yarn be 'Bigger than Texas?'
On Friday I depart at sparrows fart down to Dunedin for the 2nd Unwind Retreat.  Hosted by Vintage Purls' Morag McKenzie, Unwind is an excellent way for me to touch base with many of our South Island customers & show dozens of die hard knit enthusiasts some new products & gather feedback.

One such product is a super chunky yarn which we have dubbed TEXAS.  We were unsure whether we were going to continue with a Super Chunky range for the 2013, but fate intervened & we now have 5 stunning colours, from a sandy cream, ebony through to a vibrant magenta (of course my personal favourite!).  I have cast on a project to work on at Unwind & will get the yarn photographed & uploaded upon my return. In the meantime enjoy this sneak peak...
